Stalking
If you are not a fan of very early mornings, the kind that have a 4 o’clock in them, then observing deer in their natural habitat might not be for you. However, we can assure you that it is worth the pain of being outside before first light and the thrill of sneaking up on deer to closely observe them is not to be missed.
With the Chilterns Hills as a backdrop and views into the Oxfordshire Plain and the Aylesbury Vale the scenery is staggering.
There are 6 different species of deer that live alongside us in the UK:
Chinese Water Deer
Muntjac
Roe
Fallow
Sika and
Red

Except for Sika and Red the other four deer species are all present where we walk up on them.
It’s not possible to discuss deer without mentioning ethical deer management. As our ancestors removed the natural predators to deer from the UK landscape (Wolf, Bear and Lynx) their numbers require control.

Contrary to popularly held beliefs the predator/prey relationship strengthens herds by removing the weak, infirm, diseased, and elderly from those populations.
We currently offer professional deer culling as well as providing stalking and butchery days as an educational experience.
